Community Schools & CCNY

The Child Center of NY is a leading provider of NYC community schools, where students receive high-quality academic instruction and extended learning opportunities. The Child Center works to engage youth and families in every aspect of the school community and offers a variety of services and support – from school-based mental health wellness centers that make mental health an integral part of students’ education to targeted attendance outreach, which is proven to significantly increase high school graduation rates.

Our aim is to ensure students can succeed academically, socially, and emotionally, and graduate from high school with skills and confidence.

Here at MS53 the Community School team supports the school through attendance support, working with students that are at risk or are currently chronically absent. We are here to support overall school attendance. We also provide professional development opportunities, workshops, and classes for families of our scholars. We work closely with the MS53 Administration to increase overall family engagement, as well as After school programming, subject-based tutoring, college and student advisement are all things we work to achieve. We are here to assist our community in any way possible.
